Knomart has a genuinely free tier. That matters because a merchant should be able to understand what is available without assuming that every action comes with a charge.

Free does not mean that every Knomart activity is free. It means the fee structure needs to be read by activity rather than reduced to a simple slogan.

There is a 5% cut on posted work

The current plan includes a 5% cut on posted work. This is one of the places where a fee applies, so merchants should account for it when deciding what work to post and how the resulting transaction affects the business.

The important thing is to know when the percentage applies rather than treating it as a charge on everything a merchant does inside Knomart.

Do not confuse the two

“Knomart is free” can be misleading if it makes a merchant think there are no paid activities. “Knomart takes 5%” can be just as misleading if it makes a merchant think the percentage applies to everything.

The useful explanation is more precise: there is a genuinely free tier, while posted work has a 5% cut.

Why the fee map matters

Merchants make better decisions when they know what they are paying for. A clear fee structure makes it easier to calculate whether an activity is worthwhile, price work appropriately and understand the economics of using the platform.

It also builds trust. Surprises around money are harder to recover from than a fee that was clearly explained before the merchant committed to an activity.

Before using a paid activity, ask one simple question: “What exactly is this fee applied to?” Then calculate the effect on the transaction before you proceed.

That is the purpose of a fee map: not to make Knomart sound free or expensive, but to make the economics understandable.
