Confirming Work, and the 7-Day Auto-Release

Finishing the work is not the same as confirming it. On Knomart, the merchant's confirmation is the step that moves a completed opportunity toward payment release, with a seven-day auto-release window after confirmation.

If you have posted work, you have a responsibility at the end of the process that is just as important as choosing the right member at the beginning: confirm the work when it has actually been completed.

Completion and Confirmation Are Different

A member can complete the work, but the opportunity still needs to move through the confirmation stage.

Take a moment to check what was agreed, what was delivered and whether the work has reached the required outcome. Confirmation should be based on the actual task, not simply on the fact that the member says they are finished.

Confirm When the Work Is Complete

Once you have checked the completed work and it meets the agreed requirements, confirm it through the platform.

This creates a clear point in the transaction: the work has been completed and the merchant has acknowledged that completion.

That matters because payment release is tied to this stage.

What Happens After Confirmation?

Confirmation does not mean the money is instantly paid out.

After the work is confirmed, the payment enters the platform's release process. The current workflow provides a 7-day auto-release window after confirmation.

The sequence is therefore straightforward:

  1. The opportunity is funded.
  2. The work is posted and a member is selected.
  3. The member completes the work.
  4. The merchant confirms the work.
  5. The payment is released within 7 days after confirmation.

Why the Seven-Day Window Matters

A defined release window is better than leaving payment timing to an informal promise.

Everyone can understand where the transaction stands. The merchant has a clear confirmation step, while the member has a defined process after that confirmation.

Do Not Confirm Before You Have Checked

Confirmation should not be treated as a button to press simply to close an open task.

If something is incomplete or does not match the agreed requirements, deal with that situation before confirming. The separate dispute process exists for situations where there is a genuine problem with the work.

At the same time, once the agreed work has genuinely been completed, do not leave a completed opportunity sitting indefinitely without confirmation.

Close the Loop Properly

The best merchant workflow is simple: fund the opportunity, choose carefully, review the completed work, confirm it when it is genuinely complete, and let the release process do the rest.

Confirmation is the merchant's final acknowledgement of completed work. Once you confirm, the 7-day auto-release clock begins.
